Rafinha on hunt for new club amid Premier League, La Liga and Bundesliga offers

Barcelona midfielder Rafinha will look to end his loan at Inter and "find a new team as soon as possible" following interest from "big teams" according to his father and agent, former Brazil international Mazinho. Inter agreed a loan deal for the 25-year-old in January, with the option to buy for €38 million (£33.5m/$44m), but Mazinho said the club has not shown enough desire to secure a permanent deal for the Brazilian playmaker. Rafinha scored twice in 17 appearances for Inter after falling out of favour at Camp Nou, but the arrival of Radja Nainggolan at San Siro indicated that he is not in head coach Luciano Spalletti's plans. "The agreement with the club expired on June 5," Mazinho told Gazzetta dello Sport. "Now it is right to look for other solutions. "If the people at Inter had strongly desired my son, they would have moved with more determination." Rafinha enjoyed three seasons in the first team at Barcelona, making 48 La Liga appearances for the Blaugrana between 2014 and 2017, but failed to reclaim his place in the team after undergoing surgery on a meniscus problem in April 2017. Mazinho gave no indication that his son would return to Camp Nou, saying: "We need to evaluate the best for him. Until now everything was still waiting for Inter, now it's time to find a new team as soon as possible. "La Liga, Premier League, Ligue 1 and Bundesliga clubs have come in. From Serie A, of course, some big teams have already contacted us. "The goal is to start the season with a new shirt. It does not depend only on us, but also on Barcelona."

Lukaku likened to Ronaldo as Rashford hails Man Utd & Belgium ‘beast’

Marcus Rashford sees similarities between Manchester United team-mate Romelu Lukaku and former Old Trafford favourite Cristiano Ronaldo. The Red Devils snapped up the Belgium international for £75 million ($99m) in the summer of 2017 and saw him offer a 27-goal return in his debut campaign. He is now replicating that form on a World Cup stage, with the target found four times in two outings to date. An untimely ankle issue has cast his involvement in a meeting with England on Thursday into doubt, and Rashford will be among those pleased to see the 25-year-old miss out if he does not recover in time. The United forward has seen his club colleague up close in 2017-18 and believes his talent and work ethic is comparable to that of Real Madrid icon Ronaldo. Rashford told Rio Ferdinand’s YouTube channel: "He's a beast. "He's a massive threat, he'll be tough to deal with [at the World Cup]." Asked about Lukaku’s Premier League form, Rashford added: "It doesn't surprise me. When you see his work ethic, it's his determination to improve. It's like what we were talking about with [Cristiano] Ronaldo and wanting to better yourself. "There's been times when we've stayed behind and practiced finishing. Genuinely we could stay there all day and just try to better ourselves and improve. That's a quality in itself." Rashford has also been impressed by Lukaku’s desire to help United be the best they can be, with the club’s leading marksman prepared to do a job for the team when required. Quizzed on his attitude in training, the Red Devils and England star said: "Everyone is chilled but everybody wants to win, especially when things aren't going our way. There's no time to be joking around. He's a serious guy as you can see." Rashford will be hoping to figure against Belgium on Thursday as England bring their Group G campaign to a close. He has been restricted to just one appearance off the bench so far, but Gareth Southgate has vowed to make changes to his side after booking a last-16 berth with one game to spare.

Hazard urged by Fabregas to shun Real Madrid and become a Chelsea 'legend'

Eden Hazard has been urged by Chelsea team-mate Cesc Fabregas to shun interest from Real Madrid and become “a club legend” at Stamford Bridge. Transfer talk around the Belgium international is nothing new, with his future having been called into question for some time. Speculation has, however, built steadily again over recent weeks, with the 27-year-old doing little to curb the rumours as he continues to leave the door open for a summer exit. Fabregas hopes a long-running saga will eventually be brought to a close which proves beneficial to Chelsea, with a man to have been billed as a potential Ballon d’Or winner of the future still having plenty to achieve in west London. The Spanish midfielder told The Telegraph: “Eden Hazard has the qualities to be the best, especially now Cristiano [Ronaldo] and Leo [Messi] are getting older. “He can also be a club legend for Chelsea if he stays. “All I say to him is it’s up to him how far he wants to get because he has all the attributes and he is still at the age where he can be the best with the likes of Neymar and maybe [Kylian] Mbappe. “Talent-wise he is up there, I have no doubt about it. He’s strong, he’s quick, he can dribble. “But I think Eden can score more goals than what he thinks he can. I believe in him more than he does!” Hazard is currently away on international duty with Belgium at Russia 2018, with it possible that more eye-catching displays in a global shop window will draw further interest from afar. Fabregas, though, believes that a future call rests solely with the player himself, with it up to him to decide what he wants to do next. He added: “The World Cup won’t decide Eden’s future, I don’t think. “Scouts follow you everywhere and he has done more than enough for clubs to see his talent, but I really hope he can stay at Chelsea for many years and become one of the biggest legends in the club’s history. “He has all the attributes and the only piece missing is the Champions League. “If he won that with Chelsea, then he would have everything at club level. “If he stays, I’m sure he will be, if not the best, one of the best players Chelsea has ever had and will ever have.”

Southampton snap up Armstrong from Celtic in £7m deal

Southampton have announced the signing of midfielder Stuart Armstrong, who has joined the Premier League club from Celtic. Armstrong has signed a four-year deal at St Mary's, with the fee for the 26-year-old reported to be £7 million ($9m). The Scotland international, who has been named in the PFA Scottish Premiership Team of the Year three times, won four league titles during his time at Celtic. "Stuart is a player who we have admired for some time, and I am delighted we have been able to bring him here, especially given the competition we faced to sign him," said Southampton manager Mark Hughes. "We have strong players in the squad and it is important we build on that by adding different qualities. It is important we add a greater goal threat to the team as a whole, and to our midfield specifically, and Stuart's record of scoring and creating makes him an extremely exciting addition in that area. "He brings with him extensive experience of European football and has developed his game impressively over the past few seasons at a major club in Celtic, where there is a demand not only to perform but also to win. Stuart has done both during his time there. Armstrong has won six Scotland caps since making his debut for the national team last year. "Southampton seems a really good fit for me. Watching from afar, I really enjoy the attractive football that they play and I'm very happy to be here," added Armstrong. "Every season, I put demands on myself to create and score goals. I hope going forwards from here that it will be the same this term at St Mary's."
