Rafinha on hunt for new club amid Premier League, La Liga and Bundesliga offers

Barcelona midfielder Rafinha will look to end his loan at Inter and "find a new team as soon as possible" following interest from "big teams" according to his father and agent, former Brazil international Mazinho. Inter agreed a loan deal for the 25-year-old in January, with the option to buy for €38 million (£33.5m/$44m), but Mazinho said the club has not shown enough desire to secure a permanent deal for the Brazilian playmaker. Rafinha scored twice in 17 appearances for Inter after falling out of favour at Camp Nou, but the arrival of Radja Nainggolan at San Siro indicated that he is not in head coach Luciano Spalletti's plans. "The agreement with the club expired on June 5," Mazinho told Gazzetta dello Sport. "Now it is right to look for other solutions. "If the people at Inter had strongly desired my son, they would have moved with more determination." Rafinha enjoyed three seasons in the first team at Barcelona, making 48 La Liga appearances for the Blaugrana between 2014 and 2017, but failed to reclaim his place in the team after undergoing surgery on a meniscus problem in April 2017. Mazinho gave no indication that his son would return to Camp Nou, saying: "We need to evaluate the best for him. Until now everything was still waiting for Inter, now it's time to find a new team as soon as possible. "La Liga, Premier League, Ligue 1 and Bundesliga clubs have come in. From Serie A, of course, some big teams have already contacted us. "The goal is to start the season with a new shirt. It does not depend only on us, but also on Barcelona."

Nainggolan: I no longer felt important at Roma

Radja Nainggolan is ready for a "new adventure" at Inter after revealing he no longer felt important at Roma. Inter shelled out an initial €38 million (£33.5m/$44m) to sign Nainggolan on a four-year contract on Tuesday, though with Davide Santon and Nicolo Zaniolo going the other way their net spend stands at €24m. The 30-year-old will reunite with Luciano Spalletti, who he spent 18 months playing under at Stadio Olimpico, as Inter look to improve on a fourth-place finish in Serie A in 2017-18, while also preparing to take part in the Champions League for the first time since 2011-12. Nainggolan, who retired from international duty for the second time in less than a year after being overlooked for Belgium's World Cup squad, claimed he was motivated to move to the Nerazzurri after feeling a loss of faith in the capital. "The most important thing for me is sensing people believe in me. I got a call from the sporting director [Piero Ausilio], the coach [Spalletti] and [vice-president Javier] Zanetti too," he told Inter TV. "They made me feel important, something I perhaps no longer felt at Roma, so it was an easy choice. Of course, I won't forget the past, but I'm happy to start a new adventure. I'm really up for it. "I think I had my best season under Spalletti and I hope to do just as well here. I'm here for the coach and happy to be working with him again. "I hope we can do well both in Serie A and the Champions League because Inter have a proud history. Hopefully we'll get back to those heights again now."

Inter sign Nainggolan from Roma for €38m

Inter have signed Radja Nainggolan from Roma, the club have confirmed. The Belgian midfielder moves to Inter after making 203 Serie A appearances for Roma, who he joined from Cagliari, initially on loan, in 2014. Nainggolan will be reunited with coach Luciano Spalletti at San Siro – the pair previously worked together in the Italian capital – ahead of the Nerazzurri's return to the Champions League. Inter, who snatched fourth place in Serie A with a dramatic final-day victory over Lazio in May, have reportedly paid €38 million (£33.5m/$44m) up front to bring in the 30-year-old from their domestic rivals. Roma will also receive 10% of a sell-on fee, up to €2m. Manager Spalletti has already hailed Nainggolan, telling Sky Sport Italia prior to the move being officially confirmed: "He is the turbine we were missing from our engine. "The fact that as soon as he was on the market, he chose to come to Inter is an important sign for us. "He can do well. He has the character to go against any opponent. He is a ninja. He fights with everyone on any field." Nainggolan won 30 caps for Belgium, scoring six goals, before announcing his international retirement for the second time in less than a year after missing out on the Red Devils' World Cup squad. However, he was an integral part of the Roma team that reached the last four of the Champions League in the 2017-18 season, Eusebio Di Francesco's side rallying on home soil to sensationally knock out Barcelona at the quarter-final stage before losing 7-6 on aggregate to Liverpool in the next round. Meanwhile, Roma have signed two players from the Nerazzurri in Davide Santon, joining for €9.5m (£8.3m/$11m) and attacking midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo from Inter for €4.5m. “I cannot wait to get started and show everyone what I can do,” Santon, who spent four years at Newcastle between two spells at San Siro, said. “Coming to Roma means a lot to me, I really wanted to make the move and being here now has given me a lot of motivation.”

Nainggolan the 'ninja' Inter were missing, says Spalletti

Inter coach Luciano Spalletti believes Radja Nainggolan was the man his team were missing, as he prepares to welcome the midfielder to the Serie A club. Nainggolan, 30, is expected to complete a switch from Roma to Inter in the coming days, with the capital club reportedly receiving €24 million (£21m/$28m), Davide Santon and Nicolo Zaniolo. It will see former Roma coach Spalletti and Nainggolan reunited, after the the manager departed the club after 2016-17 following a second stint in charge that lasted a year and a half.  The Inter boss feels the former Belgium international, who retired from international play after missing out on the 2018 World Cup, has been the man his team were lacking. "He is the turbine we were missing from our engine," Spalletti told Sky Sport Italia. "The fact that as soon as he was on the market, he chose to come to Inter is an important sign for us. "He can do well. He has the character to go against any opponent. He is a ninja. He fights with everyone on any field." Spalletti also confirmed the arrival of defender Stefan de Vrij would mean a switch to a back three for Inter. Meanwhile, Santon arrived in Rome on Sunday, a further indication the deal involving Nainggolan is close to completion. Inter finished the season in fourth place, narrowly sealing a place in the 2018-19 Champions League by virtue of a comeback win over Lazio, who finished fifth.
