Barcelona & Man Utd target Skriniar thinking only of Inter

Milan Skriniar insists his focus remains solely on Inter amid increasing speculation he could leave San Siro during the off-season. The centre-back has impressed in his first campaign at Inter, having joined for a reported €23 million (£20m/$27m) from Sampdoria. His seamless transition has not gone unnoticed and the 23-year-old has been linked with the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City, Real Madrid and Barcelona as a result. The Slovakian, though, remains committed to the Nerazzurri, telling Gazzetta dello Sport: "I am happy in Milan with Inter, nothing else matters. "I don't know what's going on in the market and I won't talk about it either. "I don't know whether Barcelona or other clubs want me. I am serious, none of it interests me. "I only have Inter in my head." Skriniar even hinted that he could be set for a prolonged stay at Inter, much like his compatriot Marek Hamsik, who has enjoyed 11 fruitful years at Napoli. He added: "It's not impossible. I see my friend Marek Hamsik, who has become an icon at Napoli. "Why can't the same thing happen for me at Inter? "I am very happy here and there is no reason to think about leaving."

Zanetti insists Icardi wants Inter stay as transfer speculation swirls

Inter vice-president Javier Zanetti insists captain Mauro Icardi wants to remain with the Serie A club amid transfer speculation. Icardi helped Inter qualify for the Champions League but the skipper – who reportedly has a €110 million (£97m/$129m) release clause – has been linked with Juventus, Real Madrid, Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Manchester United. Zanetti was asked about Icardi's future but the former Inter captain said he is not concerned over the 25-year-old forward. "It's disappointing he's not going to the World Cup, as he has proved he fits in with the Argentina squad," Zanetti told reporters. "When you have a champion like him in the team, it's only normal to receive many offers, but Mauro is the captain and a reference point for Inter. "We are happy to have him here and he is happy to be with us. We are not worried by transfer speculation, because he manifested his desire to remain and we in the Champions League, so wish to continue together. "Every time he steps on to the field, he shows how much he cares about Inter." Icardi scored a joint-high 29 goals in 34 Serie A games in 2017-18 as Inter finished fourth in the standings.

Man Utd & Real Madrid target Skriniar has "no reason to leave" Inter

Milan Skriniar may be attracting interest from Manchester United and Real Madrid, but the highly-rated defender claims he has “no reason to leave” Inter. The 23-year-old has seen his profile rise throughout the 2017-18 campaign to now find himself registering on the transfer radars of leading clubs across Europe. He has taken in just one season at San Siro, having joined Inter from Sampdoria last summer, but is already sparking talk of another possible big-money move. Potential landing spots in England and Spain have been mooted, but Skriniar is eager to avoid being dragged into a debate regarding his future as he has no desire to move on. He told Pravda: “It’s the wish of me and the club. “I don’t know about any particular offer, I have no reason to leave, and I don’t think Inter would sell me anyway. “I also love the fact that we’ll play in the Champions League, I’m looking forward to it.” Skriniar helped Inter to secure a fourth-place finish in Serie A this season, with final day drama enough to book them a return ticket to European football’s top table. United and Madrid will both be gracing Champions League competition next season as well, with the Blancos preparing to chase down a fourth successive continental crown. Movement is expected at Old Trafford and Santiago Bernabeu before those respective campaigns get underway, with Jose Mourinho in particular being linked with a host of potential defensive reinforcements. Goal has revealed that the Red Devils are closing in on the €20 million (£18m/$23m) capture of Porto full-back Diogo Dalot, but it may be that their attention switches to the likes of Skriniar once the search for centre-half additions kicks in.

Lazio's De Vrij confirms Inter switch on five-year deal

Netherlands defender Stefan de Vrij has told reporters he will join Inter on a five-year deal when his contract with Lazio expires at the end of June. The 26-year-old defender has been heavily linked with a switch to San Siro for a number of months, meaning his involvement in the last-day drama between the sides in Serie A came at an unfortunate time. With Lazio leading 2-1 and needing only a draw to qualify for the Champions League at Inter's expense, De Vrij fouled Mauro Icardi in the area and the Argentin striker converted the resulting penalty. Lazio skipper Senad Lulic was then sent off before Matias Vecino's late header sealed a top-four spot for Inter. Those now look set to be De Vrij's final acts in a Lazio shirt and he is relishing a new chapter in his career, even if his deal is yet to be confirmed by either club. "I have signed for five years and I am really looking forward to it", De Vrij told reporters at Netherlands' training camp ahead of friendlies against Slovakia and Italy. De Vrij joined Lazio from Feyenoord in 2014 and made 118 appearances for the Italian club, scoring 10 goals.

Inter admit they can't stop Icardi sale if Real Madrid, Man Utd or PSG come calling

Luciano Spalletti admits Inter have to be “ready for anything” as a big-money bid for Mauro Icardi will leave them powerless to prevent a sale. The Argentine forward has enjoyed another standout campaign in Italy, with a 29-goal haul in Serie A earning him a share of the Capocannoniere alongside Lazio striker Ciro Immobile. It is those efforts, combined with a proven track record, which have seen the 25-year-old heavily linked with the likes of Real Madrid, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain. Inter have maintained that they have no intention of parting with their talismanic skipper, but there is also an acknowledgement at San Siro that they cannot stop other sides tabling tempting offers. Spalletti told Sky Sport Italia on Icardi’s future heading into the summer transfer window: "I've spoken with Mauro several times and he sent very precise signals. "He's happy at Inter and wants to stay, but then there are clubs which, if they decide to take a player, you could have been saying I won't leave here the day before, then the next day they take you and in the end you're happy to go, even though the previous day you were thinking very differently. "We have to be ready for anything, but for now there are no signals and no doubts about what he wants." Icardi has been with Inter since 2013, netting 107 times across five seasons. He is now a much sought-after asset, with his wife and agent, Wanda Nara, revealing recently that “big clubs” have expressed a willingness to meet a €110 million (£96m/$128m) release clause in his contract. She told Radio Metro: “There are some big clubs ready to pay the release clause, which is very high, but considering the figures that are circulating in football right now and the kind of player Mauro is, it’s not even that remarkable. “There are many clubs putting pressure on, but his priority is Inter. There will be a meeting with their director of sport and the priority as of today is to stay here.”
